Daniel Swindle of Laurens SC and Tuscaloosa AL

Today I did a search for a list of nine-year old Swindle boys in the 1820 census.  Since Enoch had both SC and TN as his place of birth (on various censuses), and Alabama and Arkansas didn't exist until almost a decade later, I decided to just concentrate on whatever I found first, and here it is.....

wife born 1776-1794 - (jude cobb of the 1850 census was born 1790)

So, this Daniel had four children under 10 years of age and one teenage boy.

In 1830, there was no Daniel in SC.  The only one listed was in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

So, if this is the same Daniel (and Jude?), enoch has left home (he would be 19), one girl is still at home, and two more girls were added to the family. 

Moving right along, we go to 1840 and search for Daniel and/or Jude.

enoch would be 29, so he either came home or this is the brother the 1820 census missed because he was actually born in 1820 after the census taker had already been there.

So far, we have 3 boys and 5 girls born to this couple, presumably.

Also in Tuscaloosa County in 1840, we have Herrod Swindle, Wylie Swindle and Jesse Swindle as heads of households.  All three are between 40-50 years old, making them the right age to be brothers of Daniel rather than sons.
